Morse has been selected as a UC LISTEN site!
UC LISTEN is a UC-funded project that invites teams of high school students to study challenges to UC application, admission and yield (when students choose a UC school) at their specific high school/district. High school student researchers will work with an educator at their school and UC San Diego researchers and graduate students to study a team-selected research question of their choice. The project involves required weekly one-hour working meetings (usually during lunch/after school) which can be held in-person or virtually depending on the team’s preferences and school/district Covid protocols. Project will run from February 2022-early June 2022.
High school students who participate will get a chance to 1) learn valuable research skills, 2) work on an important challenge facing their school/UC System and 3) be influential in thinking about and remedying these challenges! The team will also get a chance to make a video of their research findings and present at UC conferences or other venues to share their results.
Approximately 10-20 students will be recruited per school. No prior experience or academic history is necessary. Students of diverse backgrounds (academically and personally are welcome). Freshmen-Juniors preferred.
