IMIN Before and After School Program

21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) Grant

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 was signed into law in January 2002, authorizing the California Department of Education (CDE) to administer California's 21st Century Community Learning Centers CCLC) Program. Education Code sections 8484.7 - 8484.9 further define California's 21st CCLC Program. This state-administered, federally funded program provides five-year grant funding to establish or expand before-and after-school programs that provide disadvantaged kindergarten through twelfth-grade students (particularly students who attend schools in need of improvement) with academic enrichment opportunities and supportive services to help the students meet state and local standards in core content areas.

Morse High School received a grand award of $250,000 each year for five years starting in school year 2014-2015.  Grant focus is on academic support, enrichment activities, physical fitness, and can include family literacy support.

IMIN is the branding for the high school after school programs.  It was developed in conjunction with high school students a few years back when the district had ASSETs grants.  High School students, when asked what they do after school, often answer, "I'm in dance" or I'm in robotics".  They identify with the activity and simply express their association by saying they are part of the activity.  It is similar to "PrimeTime" at the elementary level.

2019-2020 Update :

Morse received late grant funding for our IMIN program. So we WILL be able to continue supporting after school tutoring AND CRASH over the next 5 years. Our new program will be supported by an organization called Rescue. More info coming soon....
